A primitive - but effective, supergun

Parts used in this setup :

Optional :

Benefits :

  • Good overall price
  • Works with any jamma board out of the box - just plug and play
  • Image looks fabulous on any crt with RGB scart input
  • Sound output is through the scart cable (meaning the ossc will transfer it through hdmi to your TV as well), and for optimal flexibility there's also a 3.55mm jack for those still using a stereo or a soundbar
  • Absolutely zero input lag even on modern displays if used with the OSSC
  • Lot's of options to tweak the image to your liking if used with the OSSC

Drawbacks :

  • Not the prettiest thing in the world
  • No real power on / off button. At all. Unplug the power supply from the wall, or use a power bar with an on off switch is probably the best route to take for now.

Here we see everything together on my own tv bench. I do understand this layout is not for everyone. From left to right :

* Remote controls for TV and scaler
* The jamma board
* Controller / gamepad.
* OSSC upscaler
* Power supply

Although the actual jamma board by itself looks quite nice and console-ish...
Thanks to the generous cable length between the power supply and the supergun, we can put the clumsy powersupply out of sight. In this case, it's safely put on the floor behind the bench.
Not even your wife can complain about this, it basically looks like any console, and the Switch and the likes are usually still accepted in most shared households! So, in the end, we should be all good.
